Trains are being held after a person was hit by a train.

No services could run between Tunbridge Wells and Hastings due to the incident this morning, Southeastern has warned.

A spokesman for the rail operator said: “Sadly, a person has been hit by a train between Wadhurst and Hastings.

“Trains will be held in platforms and no services can currently run between Tunbridge Wells and Hastings.

"No trains currently able to run between Tunbridge Wells and Hastings. Services will be cancelled, or terminated early at Orpington or Tonbridge

"Accessible replacement buses due onsite at Tonbridge and Hastings by 10:30."

In an update this afternoon, Southeastern said emergency service shave completed their work and trains will now begin running again between Tunbridge Wells and Hastings.

"We're working to get things back on time as quickly as possible but expect disruption until at least 2pm," the spokesman said.
