A car crashed through the front wall of a family’s home, leaving their daughter trapped.

The white Ford hit the property in Cottonwood Close, Crawley, at around 4.30pm last Friday (July 28) and came to a stop in the living room.

Screams could be heard as eight-year-old Alexus White was trapped under the vehicle, who miraculously managed to escape with relatively minor injuries to her face.

In a statement, a spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Emergency services were called to Cottonwood Close in Langley Green, Crawley, at 4.42pm on Friday (July 28) where a Ford Galaxy Titanium Ecoblue had crashed into a house.

“A woman and child inside the house both suffered minor injuries. The driver, a 50-year-old local man, was uninjured.

“The incident remains under investigation."

The home is now unsafe to live in with the family staying in a nearby hotel since.

Meanwhile, firefighters have been raising money to send the family on a planned holiday to Blackpool.
