Two historic telephone kiosks in the city centre are to go up for auction - and could be yours for £40,000.
The pair of listed phone boxes in New Road in Brighton, which commemorated the Silver Jubilee of the coronation of King George V, are being sold as suitable for a range of potential uses, including a coffee kiosk, bakery, book shop, florist or even miniature art galleries.
The kiosks come with electricity and are currently let out, producing £3,000 each per year.
Their location in New Road is near to the historic Royal Pavilion Gardens and opposite the Theatre Royal. The street, in the heart of Brighton’s cultural quarter, was once the main street out of Brighton towards London and is one of the most popular visitor attractions in the city.
As a heritage site, the new owner is not allowed to remove the kiosks or alter their historic exterior.
Those interested in buying the telephone boxes should call BidX1 on 020 3909 9740.
