Scores of food products from across East and West Sussex have been recognised in this year’s Great Taste Awards.
The annual honours recognise food and drink which is seen as the best in the UK.
In Sussex, 93 products have received Great Taste Awards. Of those, just two received the most coveted three-star award.
The Weald Smokery, in Flimwell near Ticehurst, received a three-star award for its smoked haddock. The smokery also received honours for other products including its hot roast smoked salmon, smoked chicken breast and smoked eel fillet.
Shoreham-based pie maker Higgidy received three stars for its porcini and chestnut mushroom pie.
Higgidy also won awards for its cauliflower cheese and broccoli pie, tomato and spinach vegan quiche and spinach, feta and red pepper lattices.
Among the Brighton winners were Portslade-based Small Batch coffee, which won one and two-star awards for its coffee blends.
The roastery’s Goldstone and Zambian Natural blends were particular hits with the judges.
Also recognised in the awards was Goldstone Rum of Henfield, which creates its own blends. Its white rum received a one-star award.
