Fire crews are at the scene after a blaze erupted at Eastbourne Pier.
Firefighters were called to the pier earlier this afternoon to tackle the fire affecting part of the decking.
Crews remain at the scene to dampen down the area and ensure the blaze has been extinguished.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said there were no reports of any injuries.
A spokeswoman for the fire service said: “We were called at 12.41pm to Eastbourne Pier. Crews used a hose reel to put out a fire affecting a small area of decking and joists.
“As of 1.22pm, they were cutting away and damping down to ensure the fire was all out.
“There are no reports of any injuries.”
It comes almost ten years after a major fire ripped through the central domed building on the pier.
As many as 80 officers fought the blaze in July 2014.
Another small fire erupted at the pier in July 2020, which sent smoke billowing across the skyline.
