A section of the A259 is "heaving" with some cars making U-turns to avoid the traffic. 

The A259 King's Road in Brighton is very busy eastbound this afternoon. 

Some motorists are making u-turns into the westbound side to avoid the queues.

Traffic is at a standstill eastbound from the i360 (Regency Square) to Shelter Hall (West Street).

Access to Western Road via Preston Street is currently closed due to roadworks as part of the Western Road improvement scheme

Cannon Place is also closed from King's Road due to building work. 

There are delays of 10 minutes and counting as rush hour traffic builds. 

The A259 Grand Junction Avenue remains closed westbound while demolition work at the Royal Albion Hotel continues.
