The city’s bus company has ditched its red and cream livery in favour of a new blue logo.

Brighton and Hove Buses’s new logo, unveiled in June, has appeared at the company’s shop in North Street as well as on its social media accounts.

The brand took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to say “A new chapter for Brighton and Hove Buses begins today” with a gif of the new logo.

A spokesman for Brighton and Hove Buses said the new logo will “better represent the company with a slick A to B journey line worked into the design”.

He said: “This is just one part of a wider transformation as the company set their efforts on bringing more benefits to the community and making Brighton and Hove Buses an employer of choice and great place to work for all.”

The city’s buses will also adopt the new teal and aqua livery in the coming months and years, which will also feature a variety of colours to represent the diversity and vibrancy of Brighton and Hove.

The first of the new buses, designed to better reflect the city’s geography, are likely to arrive in the autumn and be rolled out gradually over the next few years.

Ed Wills, managing director at Brighton and Hove Buses, said: “Our brand livery has not changed much since the 1990s but we and our city have changed hugely in that time.

“That’s why we’re transforming our brand to more accurately represent the spirit of who we are today and the unique, vibrant city that we serve.”

A poll of some 2,770 Argus readers said they approved of the rebrand, with 73 per cent deciding they thought the new look was "great", while 27 per cent preferred the old logo and design.
