The death of a woman whose body was found on a beach this morning is not being treated as suspicious.
The woman, thought to be local and in her late 50s, was discovered on the beach at Climping, near Littlehampton, at about 6am.
Police believe they know her identity but no formal identification has yet taken place.
The West Sussex Coroner's office has been informed and a post-mortem is due to be carried out tomorrow.
Detective Sergeant John Witt of Arun CID said: "We are not treating it as suspicious."
