Tributes have been paid to a lawyer who has died after a short illness aged 51.

Kate Henning was a “highly respected lawyer” and “friend to many” at Brighton law firm DMH Stallard.

She worked at the law firm’s Brighton office in Jubilee Street and Gatwick office for 24 years.

Richard Pollins, managing partner at DMH Stallard, said: “This terribly sad news comes as a great shock to everyone at DMH Stallard and will be felt deeply by colleagues, clients, and the broader business community.

“Kate was a brilliant lawyer, and an incredibly popular member of our property team with a great sense of humour.

“She always gave her time to help others. She was one of the firm’s long-serving lawyers and someone I’ve known and worked with closely for over two decades.

“We lost a very dear friend and valued colleague last month. She will be greatly missed by so many, including her clients who I know will share in the grief we are all feeling.

“Kate’s memory will remain in the hearts and minds of those who had the privilege of working alongside her and benefiting from her legal expertise. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this very difficult time.”

Kate joined DMH Stallard in 1999 after graduating from the University of Sussex with a BA in American History and an MA in History.
