Having previously fallen foul of sudden grant withdrawals, the Brighton Hip-Hop Festival returns this week in the form of Rising Styles, continuing the not-for-profit promotion of beats, rhymes and life by the sea.
This club night brings a host of turntablists, DJs and producers together to provide the sort of hip-hop, funk, soul and breaks worthy of a launch party, featuring classic floorfillers from the likes of The Pharcyde, De La Soul, James Brown, Pete Rock, Jazzy Jeff, The Roots and more.
- 11pm-3am, £5/£3 NUS. See www.risingstyles.com for details of the Rising Styles festival this week.
