The paddle round the pier returns with a new programme of live music.The family fun day is on July 6, with the general paddle round the West Pier starting at 1pm, before weird and wonderful craft take to the water at 2.30pm.

July 5 sees the more serious watersports enthusiasts competing in a whole host of different competitions.

Throughout the weekend the Paddle Village will be on Hove Lawns, this year featuring live music from local bands including Two Spot Gobi, Doll And The Kicks and Los Albertos on July 5 and Seeker, Soul Reality and Railing Stains on July 6.

The inaugural Chilled Turtle Ukulele Festival featuring ukulele players from all over the country is taking place on July 6.

This weekend also sees the annual Birdman competition in its new location of Worthing Pier.

Some will be throwing themselves off the pier on July 6 in the name of charity, while others will be attempting to win £30,000 for flying further than 100 metres over the full weekend.
