Another Shaun the Sheep sculpture has been taken away for repairs.

Shaun in the Clouds which is next to the Jubilee Clock Tower in Brighton is “currently undergoing repairs and will be back soon” according to charity Martlets.

The sculpture is one of 42 scattered around the city as part of the art trail to raise money for the hospice.

It is the fourth time in just over a week that one of the sculptures has been damaged.

One bystander told The Argus: "The statue was there this morning but since then it has disappeared. It’s sad to see so many being damaged in such a short space of time.

“It seems like it might be the work of some mindless vandals who don't seem to care that their actions are hurting a charity doing some very important work."

A police-inspired Shaun called WPC Gracie on Brighton seafront was damaged twice in just a few days.

It had “ACAB” scribbled on its face which is an acronym that stands for “all cops are b******s”, a phrase that was popularised after previous anti-police protests.

Another Shaun called "Bloom" was damaged on the same day as the art trail launched on September 9 and had to be taken away for repairs for several days.

The sculpture was said to be “ripped from his base” and left in the road near the Pepper Pot tower in Queen’s Park, Brighton.

The artist Faye Bridgwater who designed him said it was “gutting” that someone had decided to damage the sculpture. Bloom was returned by Tuesday, September 12.

Martlets has urged residents to help keep the sculptures in “tip-top shape” so they can be enjoyed throughout the trail, which will end on November 5.

People can scan each Shaun on their phone to get offers and earn rewards.

Shaun in the Clouds is the most scanned sheep sculpture on the art trail.

Martlets has been approached for comment.
