Fatboy Slim has been joined by a variety of artists and notable people as he completes a half-marathon trail to visit sculptures of Shaun the Sheep across the city.

The Right Here, Right Now DJ set off from The Pepper Pot in Brighton for his 18-mile “Bleat Sleep Graze Repeat” tour to visit most of the 42 models in the Shaun by the Sea art trail.

He has already visited Brighton Marina and the Royal Pavilion and will go to Churchill Square, the Brighton i360 and his own Big Beach Cafe in Hove Lagoon later this afternoon.

The trail is raising money for hospice charity Martlets, which has organised the trail.

Fatboy, real name Norman Cook, was joined by Albion owner Tony Bloom at the start of his trail and has also met several of the artists behind the sculptures.

Norman did a similar thing at the when the city hosted snail sculptures in 2018, visiting all 50  over the course of 12 hours.

He has already been greeted by a number of people, some of who shook pom-poms and cheered as he arrived.

Norman, who is an ambassador for Martlets, said: “That’s the best thing about it - meeting people and their support. It’s all about going out into the community and meeting people.

“It is also impossible to be cynical about these sheep brightening up our city.

“What I really love, in all the time I’ve been driving and walking around over the last couple of weeks, I have never seen a sheep that didn’t have someone looking at it.”

Tony Bloom said he was impressed with the range of designs for the sculptures .

“Martlets do an amazing job for those people who are terminally ill so we are very fortunate in Brighton to have such a charity, and I am delighted to support them," he said.

Tanya Hunt, director of income generation at Martlets, said: “Our trail of big and little Shauns covers the whole community Martlets serve, shining a light on the reach and impact of hospice care.

“All of the team at Martlets owe a huge debt of thanks to our sponsors, to the incredibly talented artists, to our partners and to all the hard-working staff and volunteers who have made the trail happen.

“All the money raised from Shaun by the Sea will enable Martlets to keep caring for people facing the toughest of times.”

The 42 Shaun sculptures will remain in place until November 5 and be auctioned to raise funds for Martlets on November 27.
