Last week, on the A24 at Ashington, I witnessed a group of young girls standing in the middle of the central reservation laying flowers where Craig Chard, also known as Bulky, died (The Argus, July 4).

I am alarmed how people risk their lives to lay flowers at the scene of accidents. While I understand people's grief after losing a family member or friend in such a tragic way, risking their own life is wrong.

Crossing a dual carriageway on a busy afternoon is simply stupid.

Would their friend want them to risk their lives to remember him? I don't think so.

By all means remember lost friends after an accident but do it somewhere safe so no other lives are put at risk.
