What else does Chief Inspector Mark Trimmer of Sussex Police expect (The Argus, July 3)?

Decades of non-investment in our roads and a massive increase in car ownership means it's a quart into a pint pot seven days a week and the inevitable accident rate is what you get.

Why is the A259 not a dual carriageway between Bexhill and Polegate? Millions of pounds have been spent on the Beddingham railway bridge and it shows up what a cart track the A27 is.

The Highway Agency has contributed to the congestion on our roads by creating needless "pinchpoints", reducing speed limits, traffic calming and pointless traffic lights. Sure, the Beddingham bridge is long overdue, but it scratches the surface of the problem that is the A27.
