While traveling in India recently, I was carted into hospital with a dreadful pain in my tummy.
They first thought it was an ectopic pregnancy - till I told them I hadn't had sex for months. It turned out to be something called "acute salpingitis". What is that? And how did I get it?
Salpingitis is inflammation of the Fallopian tube.
It's quite common and it causes pain, fever and often a slight vaginal discharge. It's due to germs.
These can be sexually transmitted but often they aren't. I imagine you got prompt and thorough antibiotic treatment in India. But I think you should see a gynaecologist here in Sussex, to make sure your tubes are OK.
