I have to have a hysterectomy next month, though I am only 36. My mum tells me this "will mean the end" of my sex life. However, my husband's mother says sex will feel the same and I will "notice no difference at all". Who's right?
Well, your mum is quite wrong. But your mother-in-law isn't exactly correct. Women often continue to have great sex lives after the womb has been removed. But most of them say orgasm does "feel different". That's not surprising, because there are no longer contractions of the womb for them to experience. Recently, I've been surprised to hear some women state sex is actually better after a hysterectomy. A few claim they have started having multiple orgasms following the op.
