A 17-year-old motorist died after crashing her car.
The accident happened at 12.50am today in Mill Road, Arundel.
Police said the car, a silver Fiat Punto, left the road to the nearside, colliding with railings and the earth embankment next to Swanbourne Lake.
The girl died as a result of her injuries.
A female passenger sustained minor injuries and was taken to St Richard's Hospital in Chichester.
Police are appealing for witnesses to call 0845 60 70 999 quoting Operation Field.
