A woman was rescued by firefighters following a flat blaze.
Four crews battled the fire which broke out in the ground floor property in Mutton Hall Hill, Heathfield, at 9.38pm yesterday.
The woman was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
An East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said the fire had caused 'substantial damage' to the property.
