A burrito shop is set to open in Brighton with plans to serve alcohol throughout the day.

BarBurrito is planning to open the latest in a chain of Mexican restaurants in North Street.

The restaurant, which also has stores across the country, will take the place of a plant-based burger bar on the high street after its recent closure.

Flower Burger in North Street closed earlier this year with BarBurrito expected to take over the vacant unit.

The vegan burger restaurant first opened in the city in 2022.

BarBurrito first set up in Manchester in 2005 and offers a range of Mexican dishes on its menu.

Among the items on their menu are traditional burritos and burrito bowls as well as tacos, loaded nachos and churros.

The Brighton branch will be the brand’s first store south of London with other sites in Edinburgh and Liverpool.

BarBurrito has applied for a late-night refreshment licence and is hoping to serve Corona and other beers and soft drinks from 10am to midnight.
