A musical which follows the story of pop band Take That takes to the stage for the last night of its Brighton shows this evening.

Brookside star Jennifer Ellison plays Rachel in musical Greatest Days at the Theatre Royal in Brighton - but her time in the city is coming to a close as the theatre troupe only has two performances left.

The show follows a group of five best friends in the 1990s, who are obsessed with a boy band - and they reunite more than 20 years later with a plan to see their heartthrobs one last time in what could be the greatest day of their lives.

It celebrates the 30th anniversary of Take That's first ever UK number one single Pray, and features more than 15 songs from the group.

The touring show kicked off at the Theatre Royal on Monday, October 9, and closes with an evening show on Saturday, October 14.

Greatest Days marks Jennifer's return to theatre in a decade. She said: "It's nerve-wracking but also really exciting.

"I'm telling myself that it's just like riding a bike and it'll all come back to me when I get back up there."

A spokeswoman for the Theatre Royal said: ""As restoration works continue out front on our historical facade on New Road, it's a pleasure to welcome audiences back inside for shows and the cast of 'a totally joyous and uplifting musical' (The Sun) Greatest Days to our Stage."
