Former glamour model Katie Price has reportedly run into difficulties renting out her £2.5m Sussex 'Mucky Mansion' for £6,000 per month due to allegations of damp and mould.

The Brighton-born celebrity, who found fame and fortune as a page three girl, is now grappling with £3.2 million worth of debt after a 2019 bankruptcy.

This isn't the first time the mansion has made headlines.

Nine years ago, Price reportedly paid a whopping £1.3 million for the property and currently values it at £2.5 million.

Despite its ample rooms, sprawling grounds, and horse stables, the mansion has not generated significant interest among potential tenants.

A source told the Mirror: "Katie is actively looking to move out and rent something new and modern.

"She hates the Mucky Mansion — often referring to it as the House of Horrors!

"She claims she cannot sleep alone there as it's haunted by the 'grey lady' on the top floor — not a great sell for prospective renters.

"The property listing has not even had a nibble!"

The Argus: Katie has described the mucky mansion as 'bad luck'

The property, described as an "arts and crafts home," allegedly suffers from a mouldy bathroom.

Additional off-putting factors may include untidiness, given the unremoved boxes, plastic bags, and children's toys visible in the property's photos.

On her own podcast in August, Price discussed her concerns about the so-called "bad luck" Mucky Mansion.

She said: "I’m still thinking of renting it, it’s just too big for me.

"I’m always up in Essex [where on-off fiancé Carl Wood lives] at the minute.

"[I want to] get something smaller.

"I don’t know.

"I just think this house gives me bad luck."

Despite the ongoing challenges, it should be noted that Price denied the possibility of losing the mansion and insisted that it remains in her possession.

As she explained to The Guardian: "People write about me as if I’ve not got a pot to p**s in.

"My £2.5m house is protected.

"It’s mine — no one can ever take it.

"If I could go to jail to clear all this, I would because it’s driving me nuts."
