A Greek restaurant is celebrating a big win after being voted the best in Sussex for its authentic food and hospitality.

The co-founder of Nostos, in Hove, has shared plans to keep building a community-focused company after winning the Your Favourite Restaurant competition this month.

The restaurant was voted the best in Sussex by Argus readers after founders Alex Tzimos and Kyriakos Baxevanis first opened in 2019 - turning a dream two decades in the making into a reality.

Kyriakos said: "We are absolutely thrilled and deeply honoured to receive the 'Favourite Restaurant 2023' award from The Argus.

"This recognition means a lot to us, as it not only validates our team's hard work and dedication but also reflects the love and support we've received from the community.

"Winning this award reinforces our commitment to providing our guests with an exceptional dining experience, rooted in authentic Greek hospitality."

The venue, in Holland Road, is more than just a restaurant and also runs social clubs, catering services and takeaway boxes.

"This award is as much a win for our patrons who have become like family as it is for us.

"It motivates us to continue pushing boundaries, exploring innovative culinary paths, and maintaining the high standards that our customers have come to expect and cherish," Kyriakos said.

Co-founder and head chef Alex added: "In the kitchen, we blend tradition with innovation, and it's an honour to know that our patrons appreciate this harmony.

"Each spice, each flavour tells a story, and to have these stories celebrated is what fuels my passion for cooking and exploring new culinary territories."
