A free Christmas lights trail is now open.

Hotham Park Illuminated, in the park of the same name in Bognor, is a magical woodland light trail.

Visitors can enjoy the immersive experience as they walk through the park that has been turned into a winter wonderland with lights, sounds and projections.

Councillor Alison Cooper, chairwoman of Arun District Council, braved the weather on Monday to officially open the attraction to visitors.

After its success last year with Alice in Wonderland decorations, the event has returned bigger and better this December.

The event runs until Sunday, December 17, between 3.30pm to 8.30 pm and is across six illuminated zones of the park’s woodland canopy.

There is no need to book – you can just walk in.

Conservative councillor Shaun Gunner said: “This event turns Bognor into a real Christmas destination.

"A place not just known as the sunniest town in the United Kingdom, but now a festive one, too. For families in Sussex, the Enchanted Woodland event provides a free opportunity to provide some Christmas cheer and I am proud of the role I have played in making this happen."

The popular Ice Rink has also returned to the London Road lorry park next to the park and runs until January 7.
