With Christmas only a matter of days away, Age UK Billingshurst has plenty of festive toys, clothes and gifts- that are not only perfect to make this Christmas extra special, but will also help to support elderly people in the local area! Age UK supports older people every year experiencing loneliness and isolation- and donations raised this Christmas at Age UK Billingshurst can make all the difference as the money raised helps fund essential services such as the charity's Free Advice Line and Telephone Friendship Services.

Age UK Billingshurst also encourages locals to have a clear out as the New Year approaches and to donate preloved clothes, jewellery and any other items - ensuring that they are reused and can live longer. Any donations help to support the charity and elderly people across the country. Pre-loved gifts are both affordable and sustainable, helping both the local community and the planet, reducing waste to landfill and helping everyone do their bit for the environment.

A volunteer at Age UK Billingshurst, Gretta Pisani, describes her work as a volunteer as “very rewarding” for both herself “and for the charity” that she is supporting. Gretta describes the shop as both a “stimulating and satisfying environment” to work in and “heartily recommends” her work as a volunteer. The work of volunteers in the local community is an essential part of helping the charity and providing a warm and welcoming face to the local shop.

Supporting Age UK Billingshurst assists the charity in continuing to help elderly people through the winter and into the New Year. This work is especially important during these winter months, when elderly people may feel particularly alone, so any donations from the local community or purchases from Age UK Billingshurst can make all the difference!
