A charging station for electric vehicles has opened at Gatwick.
Gridserve says its Electric Forecourt, at the South Terminal, is its most advanced charging station yet and its first at an international airport.
The facility has 30 charging bays powered by 100 per cent net zero energy, a lounge, convenience store, internet access and a Costa coffee shop.
Of the chargers, 22 are high powered meaning they can add up to 100 miles of range to a vehicle in just five minutes.
Toddington Harper, CEO of Gridserve, said: “As we launch our third and most technologically advanced Electric Forecourt at London Gatwick, we mark a significant milestone in the evolution of sustainable transportation.
“We are excited to open our first charging facility at an international airport and help support London Gatwick on its journey to net zero.
“Our purpose at is to deliver sustainable energy on the scale needed to move the needle on climate change and this is certainly a project that moves the needle for the airport and local workers and residents.”
Electric Forecourt will be open 24 hours a day and customers will have access to the lounge area from 4.30am to 10pm, seven days a week.
“It is clear that with this awesome Electric Forecourt we have continued to raise the bar in delivering the best possible customer experience,” said Mr Harper.
“In addition, we have also stepped up our efforts relating to electric vehicle awareness and information, test drives and car leasing, helping to accelerate the switch to electric in the vicinity."

Gridserve now has 175 locations with more than 1,200 charging bays, mostly high power chargers at electric super hubs serving motorway service areas.
The Department for Transport set an ambition for there to be at least six rapid or ultra-rapid chargers at every motorway service area in England by the end of 2023.
But just 46 out of 119 sites meet the target, according to RAC analysis of data from charger locator service Zapmap.
