Two restaurants in Sussex have received a special award from the Michelin Guide for "offering great quality" and "great value cooking".

Palmito in Hove and Dill in Lewes are among the 20 restaurants around the UK that have been newly awarded a Bib Gourmand.

The Michelin Guide website states: "Named after Bibendum – the official name of the Michelin Man – this distinction highlights restaurants offering great quality, great value cooking."

Palmito and Dill made it onto the Michelin Guide in 2023 and this award is an additional prize to their inclusion.

Restaurants have been awarded Bib Gourmands ahead of this year's Michelin Guide Ceremony for Great Britain & Ireland which will take place on February 5.

Meanwhile, Dill has a 4.5/5 score on Tripadvisor from 22 reviews.

One person wrote: "Dill is fine dining at its best and most relaxed. This was an amazing experience that matched and at times exceeded any New York City (my home) restaurant.
