A pub has been nominated for three awards.

The Windmill, in Upper North Street, Brighton, is up for best pub and best team in this year's Brighton Restaurants Awards Vote Online (BRAVO).

Its kitchen, Alberta's, has also been shortlisted for best roast, which is one of the 18 different categories people can vote in.

The aim of the awards is to celebrate hospitality businesses across the city.

Cody, 36, manager of The Windmill, said: "For us to win one of the three awards we're nominated for would be amazing!

"We've worked really hard over the past year alongside our amazing kitchen Albertas to create something for everyone.

"Just being in the mix is wicked to be honest.

"Big thanks to our incredible team and all our customers!"

The pub was first opened in 1828 and calls itself one of "Brighton’s classic back street boozers".

It has a south-facing terrace, open fire and a function room for customers to enjoy.

As well as serving local Sussex beers, the pub also serves food by Alberta’s.

Nominations for the BRAVO awards are now open and close on March 14.

Nick Harvey, founder of the BRAVO awards, said: "In our seventh BRAVO year, the 2024 BRAVOS are I think more important than ever for the Sussex hospitality industry.

"Many businesses will be pushing through the quieter part of the year in anticipation of better times ahead for hospitality and a more prosperous economy.

"The Bravos give the public the chance to positively celebrate and support their independent venues that are so important to us and this is what makes Brighton and Sussex unique.

"We’d like to thank our excellent sponsors that are on board for 2024, without them the awards wouldn’t be happening."
