The London & County in Eastbourne ended up being the highest ranked of the six Wetherspoons in Brighton, Eastbourne and Worthing, and it also had the highest percentage of 'Excellent' reviews.

One reviewer wrote: "Where else in Eastbourne are you going to get a triple cheese burger with bacon and a large Pepsi for £9.05 your not plain and simple fantastic value and service couldn't fault the whole experience."

Another posted: "Great food and service as well as value for money , cannot say more Nat/ Zoe excellent service , very close to station so convenient if you are travelling."

Eastbourne's other Wetherspoons pub in The Cornfield Garage was also overall well-received by customers, with it only being slightly behind on the percentage of 'Excellent' reviews.

One person was impressed with the service, writing: "Just drinks, but fab selection of real ales and ciders. Have to compliment one of the barman, for the care he poured both the Devon Dumpling and Salcombe Shingle Bay with care continually topping up until they settled and at £2.88 a real bargain."

Another shared: "Good food, good prices, great ambience and excellent customer service.
"Ive been several times and I have to say, the food is quick to come out and as good a quality as expected."

The Post & Telegraph was the highest-ranked of the three Brighton Wetherspoons pubs, earning solid reviews from customers.

One reviewer said: "Great place to stop for a drink and some hot food. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was lovely. You made our trip to Brighton better."

Another put: "Couldn’t fault this spoons. As always affordable drinks in comfortable surroundings. This one seemed less raucous and more chilled than the other and we had no issues in getting a seat."

The Three Fishes in Worthing is the town's only Wetherspoons pub and lands on the side of receiving mostly positive reviews.

One person wrote: "Located at the top end of the town the three fishes is a cheap and cheerful place to eat and drink. Exceptionally good value cask ale food is basic but fine for the price. Service was efficient. No atmosphere."

In a more mixed review, one person shared: "First impressions were that the place needed improvements. Needs a complete renovation to come close to the better Wetherspoons. Furntiture and carpets old and worn. Toilets smell. Only good thing is the choice of drinks and prices plus service wasn't bad."

5. The Bright Helm

The Bright Helm is the second Brighton Wetherspoons to appear on this list, and only narrowly avoided being ranked as the worst due to a slightly better percentage of 'Excellent' reviews.

One negative review of the establishment read: "If you enjoy a clean pub with sparkling, engaging clientele and staff …don’t come here. Possibly the dirtiest pub I’ve ever had the misfortune to spend a few minutes in."

However, some people also had a good experience there, with one person writing: "Good facilities great food friendly atmosphere. We had to wait a little while for food 30-40 mins but it was worth the wait and price unbelievable."

The West Quay in Brighton ended up being the worst-ranked Wetherspoons of all the areas looked at.

However, it was a very fine margin that saw it place here, having only had a slightly smaller percentage of 'Excellent' reviews compared to The Bright Helm.

One reviewer wrote: "Disappointing visit. Tables were dirty, nothing had been cleared away yet it was not particularly busy. The food was very poor. We have been happy on previous visits but the place has definitely gone downhill."

However, a more positive write-up said: "Fantastic value for money. Had a small breakfast, well cooked and ample to start the day. This place is ideal for the family and recommended. Thanks".
