Hundreds of motorcyclists donning purple tutus and purple ribbons filled the streets to raise money for a young girl to have lifesaving surgery in America.
More than 200 riders joined the mass ride out in support of Minnie’s Broken Heart, a campaign to help fund nearly £150,000 to send a young girl to the United States for heart surgery.
The ride will help to support six-year-old Minnie who suffers from a rare heart condition.
Xavi Champion, founder of We Are Moto who helped to organise the ride, said: “When we got to Chichester Bypass and I looked at the procession my heart filled with joy.
“I love when we can get together and really make a difference, it’s really, really lovely.
“There was so much purple on show for Minnie. Today was nice to be involved in something where there is hope.”
In total, 208 motorcyclists rode from Whiteways Café in Bury Hill near Chichester to raise money for Minnie’s cause.
Riders were seen wearing purple tutus, bunny ears and carrying purple teddy bears as well as dying their hair purple for the cause.
The Riders wore purple to show support for Minnie, who was born with Ebstein’s Anomaly, a severe form of congenital heart disease.
The condition means that she suffers from breathing difficulties and the condition is terminal without lifesaving surgery only available.
After running out of options in the UK, Minnie’s family are now seeking to send Minnie to the United States for an intricate “cone procedure” which would help to tackle her condition.
A GoFundMe has been set up to raise £140,000 to send Minnie to America for the lifesaving surgery. So far more than £70,000 has been raised with more than 2,000 donations.
Xavi says that the motorbike community has rallied around Minnie with donations coming from all over the world including the Hell’s Angels bike club.
