A beach-loving dog brought over from Europe is looking for her forever home.

Mia, seven, is a mix-breed dog who has been at the RSPCA Mount Noddy Centre in Blackmill Lane, Eartham, Chichester for over a year.

The centre has said Mia is a "fantastic beach buddy" and a "happy soul".

A spokesman for the Mount Noddy Animal Centre said: "She greets you enthusiastically and is always keen to go on a walk.

"Mia loves nothing better than sniffing and exploring so would make a great adventure pal.

"She enjoys digging in the sand paddock and would be a fantastic beach buddy, sitting next to you watching the world go by and likes to be stroked once she gets to know you."

The centre has said that Mia needs experienced owners who are around most of the time.

She also needs to be an only pet and can only live with older children.

Although generally well-behaved, Mia does occasionally lunge at traffic when it startles her, which means owners need to be aware and walk her away from traffic or on a short lead near passing cars.

Mia can also "bark with excitement" at other dogs.

The RSPCA has said that anyone interested in adopting Mia should complete a perfect match form that can be found at wwwrspcasussexwest.org.uk/our animals/adoption process/.

A spokesman for the centre said: "She is a happy soul who is ready to settle down with a loving family.

"She would absolutely love her own enclosed garden to explore and a family to sit with out there. Mia likes to settle down on her bed with a chew after a walk and relax.

"She is an affectionate, friendly, intelligent and gentle girl who has a lot of love to give."
