Emergency services have upped their presence in Brighton in the search for a missing man, police said.

Police, the coastguard and RNLI descended on the seafront this morning following concerns for a man near Marine Parade.

Sussex Police said the man could not be found and the search continues.

The force has now confirmed they are searching for 27-year-old George from Bognor who was last seen in the city this morning. It has not released George's last name.

George is white, 6ft, and is wearing beige chino trousers, black boat shoes and an orange puffer jacket.

Arun Police said on Facebook: “There is an increased emergency service presence in Brighton while the search is carried out.

“If you see George, or have any information which could help officers, call 999 quoting serial 148 of 28/02.”
