More parking will be available this summer in a busy town centre location.
Newhaven's Dacre Road car park is planning to reopen its upper levels to provide "additional" spaces.
Lewes District Council said it hopes to "quickly" install its newly-designed lighting in the car park once planning permission is secured.
Once this is done, visitors will be able to use the facility again in time for summer.

Councillor Zoe Nicholson, leader of Lewes District Council, said: "It's great news that the top decks at Dacre Road car park are nearing completion and available again to shoppers in Newhaven town centre this summer.
"I know I speak for councillor colleagues when I say how proud and exciting it is to be involved in delivering this once-in-a-lifetime project."
These improvements are part of the council's multi-million-pound transformation plan for Newhaven, which also includes moving two doctors' surgeries to new facilities in Newhaven Square.
The designs for this have been agreed and the move is set to be completed by early 2026, with work on the site beginning this summer.
There are also plans to improve Wave Active facilities at Seahaven Swim and Fitness, in Newhaven Square, to encourage active lifestyles.
