An inquest has opened into the death of a teenager who was found dead on a beach.
Lewis Glanfield, who had been reported missing at the time, was found by a passerby on Shoreham beach on March 29.
Emergency services were called to the beach just after 2.30pm on that day after a body was discovered.
The coastguard helicopter searched the area and Shoreham RNLI looked up and down the seafront between Shoreham and Lancing.
A provisional cause of death for the 19-year-old, from Littlehampton, was given as drowning following a post-mortem.
Assistant coroner for West Sussex, Brighton and Hove Kate Fawell-Comley adjourned the inquest to a provisional date of August 15, for a full hearing.
