Both areas were damaged by floods on Monday night and in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Almost 200 people were evacuated from their homes and businesses in the areas were also destroyed from the water damage.
Some families had also been put in emergency accommodation according to Arun District Council.
At the moment, alerts are in place in these four areas:
- Thorney Island to Bracklesham
- Coastal areas of Medmerry
-
Climping Seafront
-
Tidal areas of Littlehampton Rope Walk
Residents in these places should sign up for flood warnings and should have a bag with essential items in case flooding occurs.
The Environment Agency also said that people should plan how to move their family to safety if flooding occurs.
No alerts are in place in East Sussex.
