Plans have been submitted to demolish garages and replace them with homes.

The proposals, which could see five new properties built on the land behind Durham Court, in Rockhurst Drive, Eastbourne, were submitted to Lewes and Eastbourne Councils this month.

According to the plans, four of the homes would be two-bed and one would be three-bed.

Each would have its own rear garden, cycle storage and parking space.

The properties, accessed directly off Orkney Court, would also be a "simple design" to match neighbouring homes in the area.

According to the proposals, the ground floor of the homes would consist of a living room, a dining area and a kitchen.

The first floor of the homes would have a shared family bathroom and bedrooms.

In the plans, the applicant argued that the homes would bring "much needed housing to the town which is considerably short on housing targets."

A final decision is set to be made by June 4.
