Schoolchildren brightened up a care home with their artistic endeavours.

Residents at Copper Beech Bupa Care Home in Uckfield have had their wishes granted after pupils from Framfield Primary School donated their drawings and paintings for a special art gallery.

Resident Madeline Walters, aged 93, had said she wanted to experience an art gallery as part of Bupa’s Never Too Late initiative.

So home manager Hasib Khan called on the school, where pupils have been studying various artists and recreating their techniques as inspiration for their own work. The children donated some of their favourite pieces and Hasib and his team set about creating an art gallery for the residents.

The children’s artwork was proudly displayed in the care home’s lounge, where residents and their families were able to view it.

Hasib said: “We are privileged to have the work on display in our home - thank you to all the children at Framfield Primary School. All the residents enjoyed looking at the artwork, it is a great way to stimulate the mind and inspire creativity. We can’t wait to make more wishes come true.”
