A developer has snapped up land in a coastal village to build new homes.

Horsham based Sigma Homes Group has acquired the brownfield site on the seafront in Rustington.

The 2.78 acre site in Sea Road has detailed planning consent in place for 33 units, which includes a mix of family homes and luxury apartments.

Originally part of the wider Rustington Convalescent Home grounds, it currently comprises of cleared land and various standalone buildings.

Sigma plans to build 26 new homes, with the cook’s house and carpenter’s house being converted into two dwellings. The laundry building will be converted to five "spacious" apartments.

Construction work is due to take place this summer with the first homes being ready for people to move in next spring.
