A pub has won an award for serving the best roast dinner.

Brighton's Ladies Mile pub, in Mackie Avenue, Patcham, has been crowned the best spot for a Sunday roast at the 2024 Brighton Restaurants Awards Vote Online (BRAVO).

The pub, owned by the Golden Lion Group and run by Patcham Pub Company Ltd, has been a runner-up before but has never won the award until this year.

Gayle Newman and Paul Newman, who have run the pub for the last 20 years, said they are "proud" of their work family.

"We’re ecstatic to share that this year’s awards have been our biggest yet, with an astounding 71,931 votes cast by the public across 688 participating venues.

"A special thank you goes out to our headline sponsor, Uber Eats, and all of our category sponsors. Their support has been instrumental in making these awards possible."

The BRAVO awards are now in their seventh year and allow members of the public to vote for their favourite venues in a number of different categories.

The aim is to celebrate restaurants across the city and the county.

The next awards will be held in 2025.
