Sergeant Andy Bryant, of Sussex Police's tactical enforcement unit, said: “Several teams have worked extremely hard to build this case. There were a lot of moving parts and I am glad that Walker has been convicted for the distress he has caused shop workers across the town.
“I hope justice will be served to Walker. That way, it will show others who are thinking of shoplifting, that we will hold you accountable.”
The tactical enforcement unit went to his house on April 13.
He is due to be sentenced on April 22.
