Police are trying to reunite owners with 20 stolen bicycles that have been recovered.

The bikes were all stolen in the Brighton area.

People who believe the bikes to be theirs are asked to get in touch with Sussex Police.

The Argus has previously revealed the spate of bike thefts and relatively tiny percentage which are recovered in Brighton and Hove.

Figures from an FOI request in 2021 showed that only two people were charged despite 929 bicycle thefts in the city between January 1 and November 30. That makes 0.22 per cent.

But these 20 bicycles represent a successful recovery.

A police spokesman said: "Have you had a bike stolen in Brighton?

"Police are trying to reunite owners with their bikes or bike parts which have been stolen from the Brighton area.
