Tesco is opening another store in Brighton.

The supermarket chain has submitted a planning application for new signs at the former Currys unit in Western Road, Brighton, for the new Tesco Express.

Tesco already has stores a short walk away in Jubilee Street and Queen’s Road and the addition of the new Express will bring the total number in Brighton and Hove to ten.

There is also a branch in Portslade.

The new unit is opposite Churchill Square and next to Marks and Spencer.

The planning application seeks permission from Brighton and Hove City Council to display three signs above the shopfront as well as a projecting sign and window vinyl sign.

Currys shut its doors in February last year due to the lease coming to an end.
