Motorists have been warned about fraudulent car parking payment websites.
Adur and Worthing Councils have issued advice to drivers using cashless parking apps in their car parks, such as the MiPermit app, after several were scammed.
Motorists have been overcharged after searching for the app on search engines such as Google and being taken to scam websites instead.
Scammers have also been placing stickers with fake contact details on pay-and-display machines to direct people to these fraudulent sites.

People are encouraged to check the official contact details for MiPermit on the council website at https://www.adur-worthing.gov.uk/parking/ before making payments.
Motorists are also advised to only download apps via app stores rather than on search engines.
A spokesman for the councils said: "We have reported the issue to MiPermit, which has advised that it is actively reporting and closing down fraudulent webpages, but that scammers are continually launching new websites.
"Our officers are regularly checking the signage at our car parks and pay-and-display machines to ensure that they are displaying the correct contact information, but we are urging residents to double check that the information they have is genuine before making payments."
