A new Chinese restaurant will open this week after months of preparation.

Funky Dragon will welcome its first customers into the eatery in Shoreham High Street for the "grand opening" on Friday evening.

The restaurant, which is at the site of the old Chambers Bistro, will be serving its À La Carte Menu on opening night.

Some of the dishes available will include seafood, Chinese curry, duck pancakes, sweet and sour pork Hong Kong style and kung po chicken.

Vegetarian and vegan options will also be available on both the dinner and the lunch menus, alongside a range of desserts including crepes and banana fritters.

A restaurant spokesman said: "Embark on a culinary journey where the flavours of China, Macau and the Far East intertwine with the wines and hospitality of Portugal to create an unforgettable dining experience.

"A voyage inspired by centuries of cross-cultural exchange, where the spice routes of the East meet the maritime traditions of the West."

The restaurant will be open every day except Tuesdays.

Lunch hours will be from 12.30pm until 4pm and the evening meals from 5pm until 9pm.

The restaurant will stay open for longer on Friday and Saturday evenings.
