A scaffolding lorry has smashed into the side of a cafe.
People enjoying a late breakfast in the Metrodeco cafe in Kemp Town were startled when a heavy lorry rolled into the side window.
The cafe was evacuated while firefighters made their way to the scene just after 11am - with pictures showing the building's frontage buckling from the impact.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service's technical rescue unit helped to make the building safe.
Police officers kept a cordon around the building.
A spokesman for the fire service said: "There were no casualties reported and the incident was handed over to Sussex Police, and the responsible person for the building.
Crews left the scene at around 12.05pm.
Councillor Gary Wilkinson said he was "thankful" that there were no injuries and "hopefully the road will open again soon."
