Pro-Palestine activists marched along the seafront, holding banners and leading chants in protest over the conflict in Gaza.
It was led by Brighton Queers for Palestine, a group of LGBTQ+ people demanding an immediate ceasefire and an end to arms sales to Israel. The group proceeded along the seafront from Victoria Gardens, finishing at the Peace Statue on Hove Lawns.
One banner read “genocide in Gaza, made in Brighton”, referencing Moulsecoomb-based company L3Harris’s manufacturing of bomb racks used in fighter jets which were sold to the Israeli Defence Force.
The march comes after Stop the War Brighton organised a day of action calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, with students and workers marching from Brighton University on May 1.
