A pub has announced it will close this summer.

The Treacle Mine pub in Hailsham Road, Polegate, near Eastbourne will be closing for the final time on July 4.

In a sign put up outside the pub, the landlords confirmed the closure was a "company decision".

No further details about the reasons behind the closure have been given.

The team also thanked customers for their loyalty.

The pub is owned by Whitbread Group PLC, who have 12 eateries across the country.

This includes The Roundstone in Angmering, near Littlehampton.

Whitbread Group PLC have been approached for comment on the closure.
