One of the best things about spring is the new life it brings.

From bluebells and blossoms to adorable chicks, there is so much to see in Sussex.

Our camera club snapper Robert Barrington-Wright has been visiting Ifield Mill Pond in Crawley regularly and has captured some glorious snaps of the cygnets.

He has even affectionately named one Fluffy.

Curious little Fluffy has been getting more brave in recent days, exploring the edges of the pond and practising his waddle.

Robert has photographed the intricate beauty of the cygnet nestled in his mother's feathers.

"I surprised myself with these pictures," he said.

On the edge of the pond is Ifield Watermill, which is said to be the only working watermill in West Sussex still powered by its original water source, the pond.

It has been around since 1660 and was rebuilt after a fire in 1683 and operated for nearly 250 years until the 1920s when it was left to deteriorate.

Work started on the restoration in 1974 and the watermill now boasts a working waterwheel as well as a renovated building.
