A bank has reopened early after being refurbished.

The HSBC branch in North Street, Brighton, has welcomed customers back for the first time since April 30.

It was closed to upgrade the facilities which included adding "state-of-the-art" cash machines, repainting the walls and replacing the signs.

During the closure, HSBC customers who needed to visit a branch had to go to Worthing or Eastbourne.

Customers could continue to do online or mobile banking.

Paul Amos, HSBC UK’s local director, said: "We have been working hard to upgrade our Brighton branch with some state of the art cash machines in addition to new signage and a lick of paint to freshen things up for our customers.

"The various teams have done a fantastic job and we are proud to say the work is complete earlier than expected, and we will be opening our doors to our customers, and non-customers who wish to join us, one day early."
