A footballer and a dancer from Sussex will star in this year’s Love Island.

The new series of the ITV2 dating show will see a raft of singletons enter the villa in Majorca hoping to find a match.

Lewes FC footballer Ronnie Vint and personal shopper and dancer Harriett Blackmore from Brighton will be two of the first wave of hopefuls to appear as the eleventh series kicks off next Monday.

Harriett has recently come out of a three-year relationship and said she hopes to find love in the villa.

The 24-year-old revealed she has done personal shopping for Brighton rapper Arrdee.

“I’ll bring the entertainment for everyone in the villa, whether that’s making the girls laugh or making the boys turn their heads, I’m sure that I’ll bring the drama,” she said.

Harriett said “loyalty and trust” are important to her in any perspective pairing.

“Good looks and personality are important too, I need someone with good energy that I can bounce off,” she said.

And her party trick is the splits.

“Whenever I’m having a few drinks, the splits come out,” she said.

Ronnie said it felt like the right time to take part in the show.

“I’ve always thought about Love Island but now I’m 27 it feels like the right age for me to be serious about finding someone and settling down.

“I’ve had two serious relationships in the past but more recently have enjoyed being single and doing my own thing as I’ve been focused on my football career. I’ve got to the age where I want to find the right person I can build a life with.

“I’m a fun, bubbly person looking for a good time so I’m confident that I’ll get on really well with everyone and can hopefully find a nice girl while I’m at it.”

The 27-year-old, who is close friends with previous contestant Olivia Attwood and her husband, the footballer Bradley Dack, is obsessed with mayonnaise.

“I love mayonnaise, I have it on everything I eat, even a roast dinner. The only thing I don’t have it on is cereal,” he said.

"I want someone that's family-orientated, caring and career-minded. Lookwise, I like blondes with nice boobs but am partial to a brunette too."

Reacting to the announcement, Lewes FC said: “It’s happened again… Good luck, Ronnie.”

Last year saw former Lewes FC player Tyrique Hyde take part in the show.

He placed second with Scottish model Ella Thom.

Love Island returns to screens on Monday, June 3, at 9pm.
